Mining & Extractive Industries

Spintelligent’s Mining & Extractive industry portfolio has a track record of over ten years, offering turnkey events in Africa’s mining regions. The platforms connect over 3200 professionals across the mining and extractive value chains annually and aim to boost access to stakeholders that include investors, financiers, policy makers and global suppliers and services providers.

From frontier markets to robust mining and extractive markets our event offerings reflect industry trends in African countries where exploration and production are either at early and/or advanced stages. We specialize on difficult entry African mining markets, build key relationships with government and provide easy and quality events to the sellers and buyers.

  • In the less mature markets, the strategic iPAD* conferences engage directly with Government and explore areas of investment and tend to focus on the upstream side of the value chain with a view for participants to gain early entry into high-risk/high-return markets, access to finance, make business connections and network: DRC Mining Week, Kenya Mining Forum and Nigeria Mining Week.
  • In the more established territories, the business to business indoor and outdoor trade expos are large-scale and feature iPAD Conferences, product demonstrations, capital equipment for mining operations as well as technical workshops for mine personnel and visits to mining sites. The expos represent the full resource value chain and give coverage to wider issues of infrastructure that links to the industrialization of the sector/country: DRC Mining Week.

The Mining & Extractive industry portfolio is supplemented by our training programmes and key industry publication Mining Review Africa and online portal, produced in-house by the Spintelligent Publishing & Digital Media department.

* the Infrastructure Partnership for African Development – iPAD, series of events were launched in 2005 in the DRC to address issues and challenges of the massive infrastructure requirements for profitable and sustainable mining operations.
